New studies show that attractive women who date less attractive men have better relationships. This is because most men stress the importance of beauty while most women stress being treated well. In general, such couples are more supportive of each other, and they enjoy being together more. The studies also discovered that one out of every three couples fits this description.
一項新的研究顯示：具有吸引力的女性與較不具吸引力的男性交往會有比較好的關係。這是因為大部份的男性著重外表的重要性，而女性則是著重於是否有被體貼地對待。一般來說，這樣的情侶會比較支持彼此，而且他們也會比較享受在一起的時光。這個研究也發現了三對情侶中就有一對符合這個描敘。
Studies show that when the man in a couple is more attractive, the couple offers each other less support. The amount of support a woman gives depends on how supportive her boyfriend is. More attractive men often think they can have prettier girlfriends. Therefore, they have no interest in keeping their relationships strong. Less attractive men with beautiful girlfriends think they are getting more than what they deserve. As a result, they work harder to keep their girlfriends happy. It seems that an uneven match is the best match. For a relationship to work, two people don’t need to have the same good looks. However, they must have the same amount of respect, love and commitment for each other.
